Insufficiently tightened hexagonal locking nut on the steering rod of the steering column may detach under certain conditions. If the nut is completely lost, the steering system would become disconnected from the vehicle, leading to the inability to steer or control the vehicle, posing a potential risk of accidents and endangering the lives of other road users. The product does not comply with the Regulation on the approval and market surveillance of motor vehicles and their trailers, and of systems, components and separate technical units intended for such vehicles.

The leaf spring on the front axle could break. Consequently, driving and steering behaviour could become unstable.

The rear left fixing nut for the cab suspension may not have been sufficiently tightened and can become detached, leading to the cab suspension mounting bolt falling out. This can affect the stability of the cab during braking or acceleration or in the event of an accident.

Due to a limited structural durability, cracks may occur on the front-axle wheel flanges. Such cracks could result in the mounting face of the rim on the front axle rupturing completely. This could lead to the loss of a front-axle wheel turning the vehicle uncontrollable.

The nuts on the spring clamps may be insufficiently hardened. This may lead to a loss of pre-tension force in the screw connection and subsequent breaking of the spring clamps. In the event of the spring clamp breaking, the axle would no longer be safely lifted. The resulting unstable driving behaviour of the vehicle poses the risk of an accident.

The ball joint of the control drive shaft may not be correctly riveted and therefore the cardan joint can deviate to the side when the rivet comes loose. This can result in the impairment of the steering function in the form of the steering catching or being blocked.

The brake calipers fitted to the front and driving axles may fail, resulting in reduced controllability of the vehicle owing to the possible lack of braking power in the wheel position concerned and to the alignment of the vehicle when the brakes are applied. As a consequence, accidents might occur.

The screws on the axle guides may have been installed with too low tightening torque and come loose. This can impair steerability and increase the risk of an accident.

Owing to its installation and the build-up of dirt combined with the climatic environment, in the event of a loss of power to electronic components, the separator filter relay may be damaged by local smouldering. Smouldering of the relay could lead to an open flame.

A loose screw in the steering arm connection may cause the steering rod to detach, leading to loss of vehicle control. This can cause accidents, risk of injury and/or property damage. When the cab is tilted back, a rear bolt on one side could partially lock the cab without being properly engaged. In such a case, the driver display would not alert the driver to the fact that the cab lock was not properly engaged. A cab which is not properly locked on one side could have an adverse impact in the event of a crash, increasing the risk of damage or injury in an unpredictable way.

The wheelbase is not recorded in the data set in the vehicle data memory leading to implausible steering or braking interventions by the ESP (Electronic Stability Programme). If, during an ESP intervention, the service brake is applied, the full effect may be delayed, which could initially be perceived by the driver as a brake failure. That would lead to a braking delay and thus to a longer braking distance.
