Impurities in the brake fluid can lead to physical changes in the O-rings. Due to the damaged O-rings, brake fluid can penetrate into current-carrying areas (the ABS control board). This can lead to short circuits and fire. The engine management software could cause premature ignition of the air/fuel mixture in the engine cylinder. Pre-ignition could cause excessive cylinder pressure eventually leading to engine damage. This could lead to an engine stall in motion and to increased risk of fire.
