The fuel return hose may leak. As a consequence fuel puddles may appear underneath the vehicle or fuel may leak onto the road surface, which can present a skid hazard.

The underfloor mounted diesel fuel cooler may leak which could lead to a fuel puddle which, in the presence of an ignition source, could lead to a vehicle fire.

The front seatbelt pre-tensioner may fail to operate when required, increasing the risk of injury to front seat occupants in the event of a crash.

The Restraints Control Module harness connector has the passenger side pre-tensioner wired to the driver’s side connection and driver’s side pre-tensioner to the passenger side connection. In this condition, in the event of an accident where the pre-tensioner system would deploy and the passenger seat is unoccupied, the driver’s seat belt pre-tensioner will not deploy. As a result, the driver will not be restrained as intended and the risk of injury to the driver may be increased.

Due to manufacturing defect, the support wire grid between the inner and outer layers of the fuel injector rubber return pipe may not provide sufficient support, which may cause the pipe to bend and break over time. As a result, fuel could leak into the cold side of the motor compartment and onto the road surface, posing a risk to the following traffic. The pretensioner tubes might have been damaged during assembly due to a manufacturing defect of certain front seat belt pretensioners This can result in reduced or complete loss of pretension in the event of a crash and could increase the risk of injury to the occupant.
