Check This Car for the following recall:
The airbag control module for the supplemental restraint system (SRS ECU) has been assembled with application-specific integrated circuits (ASICs) that are susceptible to internal shorting when exposed to high inductive electrical noise from various vehicle electrical components. If this occurs, there is a possibility that the ASIC could become damaged, leading to the airbag(s) and/or seat belt pretensioners being deactivated or deploying inadvertently.

The front airbags and/or the pyrotechnic seat-belt tensioner units can loosen unintentionally. The airbag control device was manufactured using application-specific integrated circuits (ASIC), which are susceptible to internal short circuits. If the control device is subjected to strong inductive electrical noise – caused by other electrical components in the vehicle - this can result in an internal short circuit. Abnormal current flow can arise in the airbag control device, causing the interior temperature to increase, potentially damaging the ASIC.
Model Numbers:
The vehicles in question were manufactured between 28 December 2001 and 3 May 2004.
