Potential interference between handbrake cables and rear brake pipes could lead to wear of brake pipes and in extreme circumstances loss of brake fluid which could reduce the effectiveness of the footbrake.

Remedy

Recall potentially affected vehicles for a check that adequate clearance exists and realignment of the pipes if needed.

Defect

Under conditions of heavy braking the footbrake relay cross shaft ball joint may detach from its left hand mounting. This would result in failure of the service brake.

Remedy

Recall the affected vehicles and check that the ball joint is properly located in its bush. Where this is not the case the mounting assemblies will be adjusted or replaced as necessary.
