DefectDue to a non-confornity in the assembly of the rear wheelhouse/innerwing and its heat shield it is possible that the assembly to deform under high ambient and operating temperatures. This could result in overheating of the adhesive used to secure the heat shield and in extreme cases it could cause the adhesive to ignite and result in a vehicle fire.
RemedyRecall the affected vehicles and replace the heat shield this will include new mechanical fasteners.
